Cold pressed oils are a very in trend thing at the moment. It leads to organically produced oils which keeps the original essence of the oil intact. It involves applying pressure and crushing the seeds to produce oil.

The benefit of cold pressed oils is they retain healthy antioxidants that are otherwise damaged when exposed to heat. This is quite significant for our body because antioxidants help inhibit cell damage in the body. In today’s time, when the whole world is combating the terror of a virus, the significance of cold pressed oils increases all the more because they contain oleic acid which helps boost the immune system.

All these cold pressed oils when cooked on low heat are excellent oils; however, they lose all their nutrient value once exposed to too much heat because that leads to enzymatic breakdown.

Overheating also creates harmful free radical which causes damage both to our body and atmosphere. Refined cooking oils, on the other hand, have a higher smoke point and are best suited for cooking on high flame.

Whereas, the best cold pressed coconut oil with no heat application is high in vitamins, and minerals.

Cold pressed coconut oil retains cocositol, (a naturally occurring plant alcohol ) to a significantly greater extent when compared to the industrial method. It blocks the development of amyloid-beta plaques in the brain. (The formation of these a-beta plaques is one of the key causes of Alzheimer’s disease). It is also helpful in generation of new neuron cells . Hence it is very much beneficial for people with neurological diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

When talking of flavor, cold pressed coconut oil definitely has an edge over normal refined cooking oil because of its added flavours.

Cold pressed groundnut oil versus normal cooking oil:

Cold pressed groundnut oil, again, has a low smoke point than normal cooking oil but even then it is suitable for deep frying . It is cholesterol free and cholesterol is an important factor that leads to major heart conditions like atherosclerosis(commonly known as blockage). Groundnut oil also boosts immunity. More the number of WBCs, more is the fighting power of your body. Some research also indicates that cold pressed coconut oil has the ability to prevent to cancer.

All these facts prove that cold pressed oils are definitely better than normal cooking oil.
